grav into gradens one of the best comedians i've found in a while, and i've only heard specials he doesn't consider to be as good. i had to hear this in full.

onnob Listening to Daniel Kitson is like taking a ride on a magical rollercoaster of wit, quirkiness and human delight. He's the comedic equivalent of sitting on your couch with a cozy blanket and a hot cup of tea, whilst staring out of the window and contemplating your childhood. Kitson is absolutely and unapologetically himself, and we're all the richer for it.

tugboat22 Dan is fabulous.
His honesty shines though and he's a credit to his upbringing.
The poetry of repeating fuck off and getting giddy giggles at the daftness of it.
Highly recommended.

alex79uk I wish there was more of Daniel's stuff available. I've already bought and listened/watched everything legally available anywhere it can be bought, but I need more. Please Dan, chuck a few more shows from the archives up!

about

I think this show was recorded on the 7th of November 2009.

It was definitely recorded at the Union Chapel in Islington, North London and it was definitely very cold in the Chapel that night so in the first few minutes of this recording you can hear me rubbing my hands to get warm, which i like.

I've edited the show a bit for this release, primarily because I was a bit jet lagged on the night which not only muddied my mind but also made my stutter particularly bothersome and i remember being frustrated by the rhythmic disruption in a couple of more delicate moments so i've done what i can to ameliorate those difficulties. Of course, It's always tricky with these things, getting the balance between an accurate record of a particular performance and an representative record of a two month tour at the end of a ten month process but i do think that this is now, just about right. Obviously, it's nearly twelve years later which means that time's moved on and i've changed in various ways so there's some bits and bobs in this which i don't necessarily still believe or at least not in quite the same way but i do think it's a pretty accurate record of where i was and how i was feeling at the time.

When i was writing and performing this show, I thought it was about death whereas actually (and perhaps obviously) i now think it's about bereavement and is basically an attempt to wrestle quite a tough time into some sort of shape that made some sort of sense. I'm not entirely sure i succeeded at that, but i definitely gave it a crack and along the way there's some pretty good jokes about drinking coffee, avoiding gluttony, sleep paralysis, and not wanking very much.

So.

Hopefully not a total waste of your time.

about

Daniel Kitson UK

Hello.

I am a stand up comedian.

There'll be a variety of recordings here, some better quality than others. Some free, some pay what you think, some for a price.

Sometimes the money will go to me. Sometimes me and (long term collaborator) Gavin Osborn. Sometimes to charitable organisations. Sometimes to corrupt public officials. And sometimes to unsustainable dictatorships.

Bye Bye.
